Hi, folks!
Great site, great technology, absolutely the most wonderful field-leveling device for people-power I've seen in decades!!! So a couple of weeks ago, I asked myself why my staffers have done nothing with youtube, at least for our indie music...
I investigated and within an hour had my own channel, and several videos uploaded and was ready for more... But I have big aspirations for my youtube presence, and here's why I need your help now, not later:
Number one, I've been a rock video producer since Monkee days when I was with Colgems/RCA, circa 1967...you can see a lot of my music and tv connections on http://www.schmilssonian.com (my best friends were Harry Nilsson, Jim Morrison, Mama Cass and Frank Zappa)-- I produce and own the rights to every single video I hang online, and I can prove it.
Secondly, my combined websites get over 1 million hits per month...I've had over 20 million downloads of my videogames and music on MP3, have some 350 music albums to promote, another 600 Spoken Word CDs with myself, Lee Lozowick, John C. Lilly, Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, Claudio Naranjo, Tim Leary and many many others.
In addition, I have done professional standup and comedy blackout sketches since 1959, own my own videogame engine and production unit for machinima, and have produced some 30 videos designed specifically for youtube.com since I discovered how bloody easy it is to use, only a few days ago...
In addition, I was and still am a major player on eBay, and have been since it first began, and am still a platinum seller...I produced a listing that was so funny, it went viral back in 1994, when viral meant something very nasty, not something good. My listing was for resin-cast garden fairies...the song is "Send Money or the Fairy Dies" sung in a Ray Charles voice & style, with me in a ski mask holding a shotgun to the little fairy's head...that early streaming video generated one of the highest hit rates on eBay ever, almost as much as my listing of one of Jim Morrison's fringe leather jackets.
My band, "Insane Investors" was on CNBC's Squawk Box for some 4 hours, uplinked from my barn/studio in California, singing songs for an audience of some 150 million.
My MP3 songs made with Jimmi Accardi (Accardi/Gold BMI) made Number 1 in dozens of categories on MP3, and virtually all our songs on that site were top 40 or better.
Also, I am an author with over 35 books in print for over 40 years, with credits galore in tv, films and books. I edited Galaxy Science Fiction Magazine, Mod Teen magazine and wrote for Omni.
There are many other reasons I think you should trust me with a pro front page, but I'll give you the best argument yet: I'm a very good marketer and website designer, known as a fair-gamer (our site, fairgame.org, is about playing the game fairly) and a world-class jazz musician, composer and jazzart artist for the past fifty or so years -- the only artist to produce backdrops for the International Association of Jazz Education -- but perhaps the most obvious test of whether or not I have an audience is to simply google me under my birthname: E.J. Gold.

I have a full audio and video production studio, post-production studio and my engineer, Oz Fritz, has won grammies for his work with Tom Waits and others.
One more point...I teach art to the blind, especially a new drawing technique that uses a new material that allows the blind to actually "see" their own work instantly, as they do it, and to erase and change it while "looking" at it!!! I want to use my presence on youtube to further my aim of making this important art breakthrough available to all visually impaired -- I myself am visually impaired, about 35% loss, so I am very familiar with the problems encountered by the blind in various degrees and stages of visual impairment.
Your help would be so appreciated, and you will certainly not regret allowing me an early start at promotion, even though it's been a short time on youtube... The only proof I can offer to you that I'm worth entrusting with a pro homepage is that I have done well with that trust in the past.
I met with eBay and askjeeves top execs years ago...gosh, it was actually over a decade past...and would be delighted to discuss business models with you if you'd like. Although I am primarily an artist (see http://www.hei-art.com for my work with Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Nancy Wilson, BB King and others) I really have a head for marketing and business plans...I'm not looking for work -- I am very comfortable -- just offering a braintrust luncheon if you're up for it.
